What covers the Health & Wellbeing benefit category and how does it work?

This article provides clarification on the main questions regarding the Health and Well-being Benefit.

Summary:

What is this benefit and what is the associated tax exemption?

This benefit allows you to pay for a wide range of medical expenses, both in your name and in the name of your family, exempt from social security contributions (TSU). You can use this benefit as you wish at places like Hospital da Luz, Hospital Lusíadas, A Farmácia, SOFARMA, Wells, and many other similar entities!

What expenses are considered in the Health and Well-being Benefit?

All health-related expenses are considered, such as day care centers, home medical care, physiotherapy, psychology consultations, various medical appointments, medications, and more.

What are the payment methods for the Health and Well-being Benefit?

You can use this benefit by paying with your card at pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, meditation and health apps, and similar services, as long as the establishments have a VISA terminal. You can also use it through the reimbursement process.

Why do I not have this benefit available?

The company can determine which benefits and payment methods will be made available for employees to use. If you do not have the benefit or a payment method available, it means your company has not included this option in your benefits package.

My balance is lower than the invoice amount. Can I still request reimbursement?

Refer to your company's benefits policy to answer this question, as the decision to accept or decline this type of reimbursement is solely up to the company.
